Fluids that are pumped include:-
- Petrol (leaded and unleaded) and diesel fuels
- Synthetic oil
- Gearbox oil
- Release agents (fat) - often sprayed
Graco lube pumps that are specifically designed for oil
Graco's Carbon Steel Fire-Ball 5:1 ratio pump has been providing
excellent service for many years for thousands of pumping
duties including heavy duty applications. The Firebail is
available as a drum length pump or, more popularly, as a
stubby pump.
The Carbon Steel President range of pumps are one size bigger
than the Firebail. There are 3 different versions: 3:1, 6:1
or 10:1 ratio. President pumps are intended for high volume
oil transfer applications.
Double Diaphragm pumps that are used for oil
Graco's range of Aluminium Double Diaphragm pumps contains a variety
of internal wetted parts that are suitable for oil: Acetal, Hytrel,
Buna-N and Geolast are all good for oil products. Sizes of pumps
range from 3/4" to 3".
A Double Diaphragm pump is a 1:1 ratio transfer pump and is not
designed to overcome high delivery heads and viscous oil products.
In these circumstances, a piston pump is usually a better bet.
Other piston pumps that can be used for oil
Many oil products are harmless in their effect on generally available
pump constructions. We are often able to supply alternative pumps
in circumstances where our dedicated oil pumps do not match flow
and pressure requirements.
